Residential Program Genesis Ministries is a place for teenagers to begin to understand their purpose in life with the knowledge that they have the spiritual authority to positively impact their culture rather than having that culture impact and change them. At Genesis Ministries we establish an environment that enables "at risk" teenagers to learn work ethics, continue educational development, and attain quality character traits. Teenagers in the program live here at Genesis Ranch and are mentored by qualified staff members and counselors. VISION: Our vision is to bring “at risk” teens from all walks of life into a place of reprieve, restoration and redirection; in order to remove all distractions from the teenagers’ lives so they can begin to understand their purpose. We will then work with families to help establish boundaries, consistency and focus as we enable teens to re-enter society as a positive and productive part of their family relationship. MISSION: To be a safe place away from the chaos of society where young people: Can continue their education Develop strong character Learn ethics and values Find their own purposes in life Build a foundation in order to become productive members of society Build a spiritual base for life.
HOLISTIC HEALTH Physical - Each teen is put into a consistent routine of daily exercise. They are also taught healthy eating habits and how to cook and shop for themselves. Emotional - Teens participate in regular counseling sessions with qualified counselors where they are allowed to express their feelings and work through their issues in a safe environment. Intellectual - Students at Genesis will continue their education and at the completion of the program will be able to either re-enter High School at their anticipated grade level or be ready to receive their GED in preparation for college. They also are trained in various daily living skills and learn the value of a healthy work ethic. Spiritual - The core belief of Genesis Ministries is that a relationship with Jesus Christ is the only way to fulfill our purpose in life. Each teen is required to have daily devotional time for prayer and Bible reading as well as spending time with Christian mentors.
The Program Level 1 - The “at risk” teens are brought to Genesis Ranch where they live with house parents who give them one on one, 24/hr attention. The goal is to remove all negative influences and establish an environment that enables them to begin the journey towards wholeness. Level 2 - When 24/hr attention is no longer needed, the teens move into Level 2 housing where they continue to make progress through the Daily Living Skills Program. Level 3 - More freedom and responsibility is given to the teenager and family counseling begins. Teen and family are encouraged to talk openly with each other under the guidance of a certified counselor. Also, preparation begins for Middle School or High School testing. Level 4 - GED, Middle School or High School tests are taken and the teens begin making scheduled home visits as they prepare to rejoin their families.
If you know of an "at risk" teen who could benefit from this Christ-centered rehabilitation program or you would like to contact us to inquire about enrollment, please see our contact info at the bottom of this page. |
What The Teens Say When I came to Genesis Ministries I was a pregnant 14 yr old, addicted to drugs, whose life consisted mostly of partying and getting into fights at school. I had no relationship with God and didn’t understand people who did. I see now that I was a very selfish and angry person. Through my time here I’ve come to know God in a very real way. Now my main goal in life is to provide and care for my little girl "Shuntay" so that she can grow up in a better environment than I did. God is my daily source of encouragement. -Chelsea Before I came to Genesis Ranch I hated my life. I was so busy trying to figure out who my friends wanted me to be that I had no idea who I was or that God had a plan for my life. In the past few months I’ve come to realize that my sense of self worth doesn’t have to come form the amount of make-up I wear or the amount of complements I receive. Now I know that I’m beautiful because God loves me; and my family loves me too. Now I can say that I really look forward to our lives together! - Missy |
